Family Adventure Day

Time for a Family Adventure!

Does your family have a thirst for adventure? Come to our second annual Family Adventure Day on Saturday, April 28, when the entire Washington Township recreation campus will be packed with fun and activities.

Purchase Tickets
Family Adventure Day - Purchase tickets here.
Save $1 per ticket when you register by April 13.

Tree climbing is not included in ticket price - an additional $15/person will be charged.

Bare Hair 5K Walk/Run - Purchase tickets here.

We’ve partnered with Heartland to kick off spring with an event that will entertain the entire family – from toddlers to seniors and everyone in between.

Challenge your friends to a race through our inflatable obstacle course, soar through the air on a zip line, and take aim with a bow and arrow in an exciting game of archery tag. EarthJOY Tree Climbing, (additional $15), also will be on site for a unique outdoor experience that gives you a bird’s eye view of Countryside Park as you climb your way toward the treetops!

The fun begins the moment families enter the park and receive their map – for a scavenger hunt that leads to special treats throughout the park. Along the way, make sure to collect a stamp for each activity you complete. Work together with friends to try and collect them all!

“Family Adventure Day is the perfect opportunity for entire families to come out and get in on the action,” says Mark Metzger, recreation facilities director. “We’re excited to see Grandparents making new memories with their grandchildren, parents encouraging their kids to try new activities, and kids encouraging their Grandparents and parents to embrace their inner child and climb some trees! Everything about the event is intergenerational and that’s something that the Rec Center has always stood for.”

When you’re having this much fun, you’re sure to work up an appetite. Refuel by stopping by for lunch or snacks at one of our food vendors – with options ranging from hotdogs by Underdogs to donuts and funnel cake by Dayton Amusements.

Ready for more? Head inside the Rec Center and try your hand at the rock climbing wall, then make your way to the aquatics area for an indoor kayaking adventure with Great Miami Outfitters. If you liked the archery tag game outside, now’s the chance to test your skills with a bow and arrow, with our archery instructors providing expert instruction and demonstrations at our Rec West building. While you’re there, be sure to take your little ones to the bouncy house before they head back out to the park to participate in a game of giant Jenga!
