How do I register for camp?

Summer camp registration begins each year for residents of Washington Township and the City of Centerville on March 1. For non-residents, registration begins on March 8.

Sign up for one week, 10 weeks, or anywhere in between. Camps fill quickly. Registration for the camp ends at noon on Friday before the new week starts.

Do you have a payment plan?

For those who register for more than $100 price point per week, installment billing is available. Patrons must pay 50% down at the time of registration. The remaining balance is due May 22. This option is not available online. When registering in person or over the phone, request installment billing at that time. Our front desk team will accept 50% payment and will set up the payment plan after the initial payment is made.

Those patrons that are set up for installment billing and do not pay their remaining balance by May 2 will be automatically refunded. Patrons will have to register again if space availability permits and pay the full amount of camp at the time of the second registration.

Are there discounts?

Complete Pass Holders (CPH) receive a 10% discount on all programs and camps. Express Cards (Physical/Aquatic) and Active 90 passes are not accepted for the lower camp registration fees. It would be to a family’s advantage to compare the cost of the pass, plus the weekly Complete Pass Holder camp rate, with those weeks chosen as a non-Complete Pass holding participant. Check the Explore Guide or website for current pass rates.

What will my child do at camp?

Each camp is unique and will have its own adventures planned, but be assured your camper will be busy all day, every day. Check our camp descriptions for generic activities. A detailed schedule will be emailed prior to your child’s week at camp though Constant Contact. This email will be sent to the email address on file no later than Thursday at 2 pm for the week ahead. Schedules will be posted outside your camp home base for most camps.

My child doesn’t know how to swim.

Preschool and full-day traditional, on-site RecPlex camps will be swimming this summer during camp. Swim tests will determine the areas of the pool campers can use. Each camper will be wrist banded with the appropriate color designating the area they are permitted to swim in. For campers who prefer not to swim, they can sit out and enjoy a book, play cards, or do other quiet activities on the pool deck with others, supervised by our camp counselors.

What should my child bring to camp?

Please make sure the camper’s name is clearly marked on all items. Washington Township RecPlex is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

  • Backpack

  • Packed lunch for full-day camp (an insulated bag with an ice pack is recommended)

  • Lots of snacks (for all camps, especially if your child is attending AM and/or PM care.  Camp takes a lot of energy and kids get hungry.)

  • Insulated, refillable water bottle

  • Sunscreen, bug spray (if your child’s camp goes outside)

  • An extra change of clothes, for little ones especially

  • A positive attitude

  • For Sports Camps: The necessary attire for that sport (shoes, padding, equipment)

  • For Theatre Camps: Comfortable clothes that you can easily move in

  • For Swim Days or Water Days Only: Swim gear & towel (optional: flip flops/water shoes, plastic goggles)

What should my child NOT bring to camp?
  • Cell phones (campers will be required to leave cell phones in camp bag or book bag until the end of the day)

  • Electronic devices or games

  • Toys, playing cards, Pokémon cards, and other personal belongings unless otherwise noted

  • Money -- children will not be permitted to buy snacks or souvenirs on field trips

  • Anything of value that you or child does not want misplaced, broken, lost, or stolen

What should my child wear to camp?
  • Comfortable, casual clothing (loose shirts and shorts) that can get dirty

  • Closed-toe shoes -- we recommend athletic shoes with socks; no clogs or any shoes with a heel, flip flops (at the pool only), or sandals

Whom do I call if I need to speak to a staff member while my child is at camp?

Each camp has a cell phone to be used in case of emergencies and carried by the camp director. You will receive the number prior to camp. You may text or leave a voice mail. Please leave a message with the following information:

  • Your name

  • Camper’s name

  • Your phone number

  • Camp your child is attending.

  • Brief message

PLEASE NOTE: Phone calls and texts will be returned as soon as possible. However, calls/texts received after 6:30 pm will not be returned until 9 am the next morning, Monday through Friday only.

How long are the camps?
  • ALL camps are one week, operating Monday through Friday. Some are offered every 10 weeks of summer, while others may only be offered one- or two-weeks during camps.

  • Full-day and Extreme Camps at RecPlex East and West and Countryside Park operate 9 am-4 pm.

Extended care is offered as follows:

  • AM Extended Care: 7:30-9 am, $20 per child per week

  • PM Extended Care: 4-6 pm, $25 per child per week

What is the adult to youth ratio requirement?

Where do I drop off and pick up my child?

Each location will have a designated area for dropping off and picking up from camp. Specific location for drop off and pick up will be emailed prior to your first day of camp. Signage will also be posted outside the entrances. You MUST come into the facility and check your camper in/out each day. Teens 13 and over can check themselves in and out if permission is given on the ePACT Health and Emergency form.

Do you have a camp for preschoolers?

Yes. Sunrise Play is for children ages 3-5 years old. This camp meets half day from 9 am-noon, Monday through Friday. Children will meet in the indoor play space at Rec WEST and enjoy crafts, games, songs, and outdoor adventures in Countryside Park, and swim twice a week in our recreation pool. All campers must be potty trained by the first day of camp. This camp does not go on field trips and has few transitions.

Why must I show a valid photo ID at pick up?

Authorized adults need to sign children out when picking them up from camp and provide a driver’s license or valid photo ID. The only adults authorized to pick up a child are those adults listed on the child’s ePACT, medical form. This sign-in/sign-out process is for the safety and accountability of your child.

Will my child go on a field trip?

Some camps will travel. Please see camp descriptions for camps that travel. Field trip locations will be listed on our web site beginning February 1. All travel schedules are tentative. While our intention is to follow the printed schedule, some changes may occur due to inclement weather or site difficulties. No refunds will be given for location or field trip changes within the weekly schedule. Camps that travel will be transported by a Centerville School Bus and bus driver to and from their designated field trips.

Do I need to complete a medical form?

Prior to the first day of camp, parents/guardians need to complete an ePACT Health and Emergency Form with parent/guardian original signature. This must be completed before your child(ren) can attend camp. We have partnered with ePACT. For the success of your child, the more information you can provide on the form, the better. You will receive an invitation to complete a health profile for your child through ePACT within 72 hours of registration.

What do I do if my child needs to take daily medication?

All medication must be listed on the ePACT Health Profile Form. If your child requires medication during the day, please bring the medication in the original container with only the amount of medication needed for the week. The child’s name, dosage, and the current date should be clearly labeled on the original container. Please check in the medication with our staff. A Medication Form will be completed at check in. The medication will be logged and secured. The camp director will be responsible for dispensing the medication. All original containers will be returned to the parent/guardian upon the conclusion of the camp week. Any original containers/inhalers or EpiPens that are not picked up will be disposed of properly.

What if my child gets sick at camp?

If a camper gets sick at camp, we have identified an area where they can rest, be watched after, and safely isolate from others. We will communicate with parents/guardians or authorized adults directly and, if necessary, arrange for the child to be taken to a healthcare facility for care.

We ask that you help us protect the health of campers and staff this summer. Any camper who is vomiting, has diarrhea, or is exhibiting other symptoms within 24 of attending camp should not come to camp. Please make sure they are symptom-free 24 hours before returning to camp. Thank you for your cooperation.

My kid is too old for camp. What else do you have?

Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program is a hands-on training experience that gives teen campers ages 13-16 valuable insight into the role of a camp counselor. ePACT Participant Profile Form

An email from our health provider (ePact) will be sent within 72 hours after the completion of your camp sign up. This digital form will include all emergency contacts, medication, and activity information. This form must be completed online with our camp staff prior to your child's participation in camp. No child will be permitted to attend camp without this form on file. The deadline for submitting the ePact Participant Profile Form is noon on the Friday prior to the start of camp.

What is ePACT?
ePACT is a secure emergency network that the RecPlex uses to collect medical and emergency contact information electronically for summer camps. Not only does ePACT replace paper forms, but it also gives us a way to communicate with your family in the event of an illness, injury, or schedule change.

Using ePACT is easy and secure. Here’s how it works:

  • After registering for camp, you will receive an email invitation to share information with Washington Township RecPlex Summer Camp. If you don’t receive an email, please check your spam/junk folder and verify that we have the correct email address on file for you by calling the RecPlex at 937-433-0130.

  • Click "Complete Request" to create a free account, or log-in if you already have an existing ePACT account.

  • Next, you’ll enter the required information, including emergency contacts and medical conditions, and share it with us so that our camp staff has access.

ePACT makes it easy for patrons to share emergency information with us while also ensuring we have access to records anytime, anywhere, such as on a field trip or at the pool.

Do I have to complete the form again if my child attended a RecPlex program in the past?
If your child was enrolled in camp last season or attended Rec’ing Crew or School Days Off, you might be wondering why you’re getting a new ePACT request. At the end of every season, your dependent’s record is disconnected from the RecPlex as per ePACT’s terms of use and privacy policy.

This means that every year, you’ll be asked to confirm that all the information is still up-to-date and then to share this information for the current season. If you entered this information last year, it will be pre-populated in all the steps. Only new questions and waivers will need to be answered. If nothing has changed, it will take you less than 30 seconds to complete the form. Simply select your dependent and click on "Continue" on each step until you get to the final "Complete Info" step, where you’ll need to "Share" with us to give Washington Township RecPlex Summer Camps access to your dependent’s record for this year/season. Click here to learn more about reconfirming your record.

Is the information I submit through ePACT secure?
Absolutely! You always own your account and the information in it. Plus, ePACT maintains the same levels of security as online banking and limits access only to the administrators for enhanced privacy. Rest assured that your information will remain protected.

Need more help using ePACT?
Please visit ePACT's online help center for more information.
