Part-Time Fire Department Positions

Part-Paid Volunteer Firefighter

Part-Time In-House Firefighter/EMT
You'll be working every third day Monday thru Friday, a maximum of 60 hours per pay and no more than 1,500 hours per year. Positions are currently filled by using the latest test list established by the Miami Valley Fire and EMS Alliance (testing is typically given three times a year). Applications will be mailed to eligible candidates after the test has been certified by the Alliance.

Required Certificates and Licenses: Must be a State of Ohio Level I Firefighter and a State of Ohio EMT-Basic. Must obtain a Hazardous Materials - Operations Level certification within the first year of employment. Must have and maintain a valid Ohio Driver's License.

Part-Time Recreation and Town Hall Theatre Positions

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis for Part-Time and Temporary Rec Center, Rec West and Town Hall Theatre.  A list of positions and application materials can be found here Part-Time and Temporary Rec Center and Theatre application materials.  In addition, application materials may be obtained at the Rec Center, 895 Miamisburg Centerville Rd, Dayton, OH  45459 or the Government Center, 8200 McEwen Road, Dayton, OH 45458.  Full-time applications for the Rec Center and Town Hall Theatre are accepted only when a position has been posted and can be found under the full-time position section along with any application directions.
