A Fresh Start for Property Tax Payment

How to Calculate Washington Township Property Taxes

You can estimate your Washington Township property Tax by multiplying the market value of your home by the percentage listed for your taxing district. This calculation does not apply to businesses.

For example, taxes on an owner-occupied $100,000 home -

  • Unincorporated Washington Township: $100,000 X .0042 (.42%) = $420.00
  • Incorporated Washington Township (city): $100,000 X .00174 (.174%) = $174.00

How to Calculate all Local Property Taxes

You can estimate your total property tax bill by multiplying the market value of your home by the percentage listed for your taxing district. This estimate includes property tax levied by the township, county, schools, library, park district, community college and 2.35 mills by the city if you are a city resident.

For example, taxes on an owner-occupied home $100,000 home -

 

  • Unincorporated Washington Township: $100,000 X .02548 (2.548%) = $2,548.00
  • Incorporated Washington Township (city): $100,000 X .02375 (2.375%) = $2,375.00
