Washington Township Fire Department conducts monthly checks of the 12 alert sirens located throughout Centerville/Washington Township.
The sirens are activated for tornado warnings and potentially used in the event of other emergencies. Siren testing takes place on the second Monday in July -- and requires approximately 15 to 30 minutes. Testing normally takes place the first Monday of the month, but has been moved due to the July 4th holiday.
If you live near a siren, you can help make sure it's working properly. Find more information here.
