Woodland Lights 2016 Brings a Month of Magic to Countryside Park

Lights, Santa, action! .... Woodland Lights returns for a 24th season with the traditional lights and sights people have come to love and a month loaded with holiday activities. The Miami Valley's most beloved lighting festival now opens a week early -- on the Friday after Thanksgiving, when friends and family are gathered to kick off the holiday season.

Woodland Lights offers the beauty of lights sparkling along a half-mile wooded path and reflecting against a woodland pond, plus a view of whimsical characters and illuminated critters preparing for the holidays. Every night until Christmas, kids can visit Santa Claus in his historic log cabin.

New this year is a laser light show, tunnel of lights, and a trackless train ride presented in partnership with Carillon Historical Park.

Every night features kid-size amusement rides, costumed characters, live animals, our Grinch World experience, bonfires and concessions. Revolving activities include carriage rides, Kids Party in the Park, train rides for kids, free Friday movies at Rec West, and entertainment by local arts groups. Add to that Pet Nights, a Star Wars Weekend, and a visit from Buddy the Elf with cast members from Elf The Musical JR.!

A Warm and Inviting Place to Visit with Santa Claus

Opening night ... Santa Claus arrives at Woodland Lights at 6 pm opening night, Nov. 25, atop the Carillon Polar Express.

Every night ... Santa welcomes children to his cabin nightly through December 23. Just walk down a sparkling path to an historic log cabin that's decorated in lights and festooned with greenery. Everything about the log home is authentic -- from the large beams overhead to the old limestone fireplace. A fire burns each night in a large hearth near Santa's chair, greenery is draped across the mantle, and a holiday tree sits in the corner. The cabin offers an inviting, non-commercial alternative for visiting Santa.
