Welcome to the Washington Township Recreation Center. We hope you enjoy your time with us.  Before getting started please review the general rules and policies below which have been put in place to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all of our guests.

  1. Admission to Washington Township Recreation Center facilities requires a current membership, daily guest fee, or enrollment in a program. Children 2 and under are admitted free of charge subject to the supervision requirements of paragraph 6.
  2. Spectators entering the facility to watch a sporting event, swim practice or other sponsored program are free of charge, subject to the requirements of paragraph 6.
  3. Users of the facilities must check in at the front desk and provide proper identification in the form of a membership card, student ID, state ID, military ID or any other like form of identification.
  4. The following activities are prohibited: smoking, chewing tobacco, vaping, alcohol, drugs or being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fighting, foul language, loitering, defrauding membership, disorderly conduct, damaging equipment or property, and creating a hostile environment. Such activities will be grounds for removal from the Washington Township Recreation Center facilities, and/or revocation of membership.
  5. Outside food, including food in coolers, is not permitted without prior consent of the Washington Township Recreation staff.
  6. Children ages 9 and under must have an adult guardian or responsible caretaker at least 16 years of age supervising them at all times.  Supervising adults and caretakers must keep children age 4 and under within arm’s reach and there must be at least one adult guardian or responsible caretaker per two children in this age group.  Children ages 5-7 not participating in a registered program or activity, must be within sight of their attending adult guardian or responsible caretaker at all times. For children ages 5-9, there must be one adult for every five children. This policy does not permit one adult guardian or responsible caregiver to accompany a group of three or more children that includes two children under the age of 4, and Washington Township Recreation Center staff may require additional supervision of children in their discretion.
  7. Washington Township, its employees, and elected officials, assume no responsibility for children left unattended at the Recreation Center facilities.
  8. Children must be 12 or older to be on the track or in the track workout area.  Children between the ages of 8 and 12 are permitted on the track if they are directly supervised by an adult guardian or responsible caregiver.  Children under the age of 8 are not permitted on the track at any time unless participating in a Recreation Center program. We have designated family time as the schedule permits for families with children under 8. Those times are posted at our front desk.
  9. The Washington Township Recreation Center facilities are not responsible for lost or stolen items. It is strongly recommended that you lock your valuables in a locker while participating in activities on our campus.
  10. Lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Locks may not be left on overnight.  Locks that are left on overnight will be removed by staff and the contents placed in lost and found.
  11. Changes in schedules may occur without notice. Staff will post changes to schedules with as much advance notice as possible.  Current aquatics and fitness schedules are available at the front desk.
  12. All guests must observe the rules and regulations relating to the enjoyment, safety and operation of the facilities.
  13. Guests entering Washington Township Recreation facilities for an open use activity must be participating in that activity or they may be considered to be in violation of the loitering policy and asked to leave the premises. Open activities vary by building, so please consult the front desk at each building for clarification.
  14. Guests with special needs requiring assistance must be accompanied by an adult caregiver who remains with them at all times.
  15. Any adult caregiver entering the facility for the purpose of assisting a person with special needs is required to have a membership to the facility.  Membership fees for adult caregivers accompanying a person with special needs will be waived.   In such cases, the adult caregiver shall not use the facilities for their personal enjoyment.  An adult caregiver may pay the membership fee if they wish to use the facilities for personal enjoyment when not providing care.
  16. Proper clothing is required throughout the facility. Please refer to the specific rules for individual areas for more detailed information.  Bathing suits and bare feet are only permitted in the natatorium and locker rooms.  Shoes and full-length shirts are required in the common areas of all facilities as well as shorts or pants.
  17. The Washington Township Recreation Center reserves the right to modify, add, change, or delete any rules in the discretion of its staff for the health, safety and well-being of guests.
  18. All membership applicants must demonstrate the capacity or competence to make the decision to enter into a contract.  In addition to being 18 years of age, this should also include having the ability to understand and appreciate, to the extent relevant, all of the following: (a) The rights, duties, and responsibilities created by, or affected by the decision.  (b) The probable consequences for the decision maker and, where appropriate, the persons affected by the decision.  (c) The significant risks, benefits, and reasonable alternatives involved in the decision.  In those cases where it is determined that an applicant does not meet this criteria, a parent or legal guardian must be present when purchasing a membership.

License Agreement:  Your membership is a revocable, non-exclusive license for the individual use of the Washington Township Recreation Department facilities and is subject to suspension or revocation at any time due to failure by you to abide by Rules and Regulation of Washington Township and the Recreation Department, as such Rules and Regulations may be amended from time to time
