Unintentional drug overdose continues to be the leading cause of injury-related death in Ohio, even ahead of motor vehicle traffic crashes, according to data provided by the Ohio Department of Health.

It's estimated that unintentional drug overdoses caused the deaths of 2,482 Ohio residents in 2014. This is the highest number of deaths on record from drug overdose and a 17.6 percent increase compared to 2013.
