New Projects Include Retail Space & Whole Foods Market

New commercial, business and residential projects in Washington Township include a much anticipated Whole Foods Market and retail center that opened June 3 at McEwen and Miamisburg-Centerville roads.

The 43,000-square-foot store is the company’s first in the Dayton area and is the anchor store for the new Oak Creek Crossing retail and restaurant center that includes 20,000-square feet of space for tenants that serve a similar demographic to Whole Foods.

Oak Creek Crossing was emblematic of commerical development along the Route 725 corridor and also in other areas of the township. Oak Creek Crossing tenants include:

  • Zoup! - fast-casual soup concept restaurant with 12 rotating daily varieties and made-to-order salads and sandwiches.
  • El Rancho Grande Restaurant - sit-down Mexican restaurant now at the corner
  • Fusian - fast-casual sushi restaurant occupying 1,800-square feet
  • PetPeople - 4,500-square-foot store with high-quality, natural pet foods and supplies
  • Elements Massage

The brick and stone development includes ample landscaping and also outdoor seating for Whole Foods and El Rancho Grande. Whole foods has met township development standards and in many cases gone above and beyond them.

“There's been a synergy associated with this development and we have every reason to expect more,” said Zoning Manager Ryan Lee, noting that other areas of the township also are experiencing an uptick in activity.
