VIP members present: Sarah Stanton, Acting Chair; Marlene Tiernan, Chairperson; Gordon Dodane, Sandra Drain, and Bob Harrington. VIP Consultant, Sandra Spees, and Mike Wanamaker, Public Works Manger were also present.
The committee met at Yanks Court to evaluate the area. The committee returned to the Public Works building to commence the meeting.
Stanton opened the meeting with a discussion of the Yanks Court landscape area. Three of the maple trees have a disease or nutrient deficiency. The callery pear trees need pruning. The white pine needs to be removed due to two leaders which are girdling each other.
Tiernan moved to have estimates made on pruning and adding appropriate plant material at Yanks Court. Dodane seconded. The vote: 4 yea; 1 nay. During discussion it was noted that a few years ago the trustees had asked the VIP to make improvements on the site.
Stanton moved to remove all beds and plant grass in the Yanks Court. Harrington seconded. The vote: 3 yea, 2 nay.
Stanton moved poll businesses in the Yanks Court area to determine if they want the area maintained and if they would contribute to the maintenance. Tiernan seconded. The vote: 5 yea.
The photos of Beautification Award nominees were reviewed. Six residences and one association were selected for July 2005.
Quotes for work on Paragon Road and at the back fence line of the Public Works building were reviewed. Drain moved to accept the low bid from Groundskeeper Lawn and Landscaping. Tiernan seconded. The vote: 5 yea.
Wanamaker stated that one extra digital camera owned by the township is available for use by the VIP. He will work on making it functional for the VIP.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:30PM.
