Rec Advisory Board
Offers Community Perspective Since that time, the Rec Advisory Board has helped steer the Recreation Center through 20 years of tremendous growth - including two building expansions and the introduction of many new programs. When the Recreation Center considers a new policy, building expansion, or any significant change in procedure, the proposal first goes to the advisory board. "Board members serve as the eyes and ears of the community. They give staff the community perspective for new ideas and changes," explains Dave Paice, Recreation Facility Director. "Over the years, the advisory board has provided strong support for the center and its programs." The 13-member board meets the third Thursday of every other month beginning January. Trustees appoint nine "at large" members who either work or live in Washington Township. Four other slots are filled by Trustees upon the recommendation of Centerville City Council, the Centerville-Washington Park District, Centerville City Schools and Seniors, Inc. of Centerville/Washington Township. Board members serve staggered three-year terms. Citizens who wish to offer their opinions and ideas about the Recreation Center and its programming are encouraged to call the Rec Center or contact a member of the advisory board.
