I. Americana

Gary Black and Steve Wenstrup gave a presentation on the 2008 Americana celebration, “Americana Celebrates 35 Years.” Their budget for this year is $130,000. They are requesting the Township to increase its donation from $15,000 to $20,000. There was a general discussion about what would be included in this year’s celebration.

II. Absenteeism Policy

Jesse Lightle passed out a potential absenteeism policy for review.

III. BZA Applicants

Jane Beach and Bill Gordon were interviewed as alternates for the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA).

IV. Letter to the City of Centerville

The Trustees reviewed a draft of a letter to the City of Centerville concerning the studies conducted by the University of Toledo and Burnsteen and Company.

V. Environmental Assessment

Jesse Lightle brought up an e-mail she received from the City of Centerville for discussion. The Centerville City Council is putting together a committee that would explore ways to make Centerville more environmentally friendly. They are wondering if Washington Township has something already in place or if Washington Township would be interested in pursuing something on a collaborative basis with them.

VI. South Suburban Task Force

Joyce Young led a discussion concerning the South Suburban Task Force and indicated that the Task Force is looking for a representative from the Township.

All formal actions of the Board of Trustees of Washington Township concerning and relating to the adoption of resolutions and/or motions passed at this meeting were adopted in an open meeting, and of any of its committees resulting in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with the law, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
