PRE-MEETING WORKSHOP

April 21, 2008

I.         Zoning Case Procedures

           Jesse Lightle passed out and explained a new policy for Development Services to follow when presenting zoning cases.

II.         University of Toledo Study

           Jesse Lightle clarified some of the points on the University of Toledo study.

III.        Updates

  1. Staff created and reviewed a list of commonly-asked questions and answers typically found in a financial study.
  2. Press coverage on the meeting held at Rec West on April 17th in which Hope Taft spoke was good.
  3. The South Suburban Coalition meeting, which was also held at Rec West, went well. 
  4. The Dayton Development Coalition is working on an economic development program that it hopes to kick off in the year 2020.
  5. A board and commission training session is planned for May 21st.
  6. Jesse Lightle gave an update on the clock project at Town Hall.
  7. Jesse Lightle discussed a resolution passed in 1997 to finance a loan.  This loan was a ten-year loan and was to be paid back by the Centerville Community Improvement Corporation in 2007.

 

IV.       Nutt Road Sidewalk

           Mike Wanamaker presented ideas on completing a section of sidewalk between Quailwood and Meadow Woods.  He is seeking right-of-way.

V.        Rec Center Update

           Dave Paice brought up a suggestion for the meeting rooms at Town Hall Theater.  They are not currently charging for these rooms and employees are being paid to lock up and maintain them. 

           Dave Paice also presented ideas on the 2009 anniversary of the Town Hall building.

All formal actions of the Board of Trustees of Washington Township concerning and relating to the adoption of resolutions and/or motions passed at this meeting were adopted in an open meeting, and of any of its committees resulting in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with the law, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
