I. Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) Interviews
Gary Huff gave an overview of the BZA. Then the BZA candidates introduced themselves, noting why they are interested in being BZA alternates, and answered questions from the Elected Officials and Township Administrator.
Richard Schwartz was the first to be interviewed for the BZA. He has lived in the Township since 1991. He loves the Township, the green space, and wants to give back to the community. He is involved with a lot of other activities, including Rotary.
Dale Berry was the second candidate to be interviewed. He, too, is a member of the Rotary. He has been a realtor for 35 years and is currently on the Board of Area Realtors. He owned, bought, and sold both residential and commercial property in the City of Centerville and Washington Township and is familiar with variances.
II. August 13 Meeting
The August 13 th workshop was cancelled since neither Terry Blair nor Joyce Young will be in town.
III. Garnet Property
Gary Huff led a discussion concerning a possible land exchange with a homeowner on Garnet. The Trustees approved contacting the homeowner.
IV. Air Gun Resolution
Gary Huff led a discussion and review of a draft resolution concerning air guns.
V. Cornerstone Medical Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
It was announced that a ribbon cutting ceremony at Cornerstone Medical Center would be held at 4:00 p.m. on August 6 th. Mr. Snyder noted that he could attend.
VI. Lighting Districts
Gary Huff led a discussion about lighting districts and the magnitude, quantity and ramifications on staff’s time required.
VII. Joint Economic District (JED)
Gary Huff and Jesse Lightle met with a representative from the City of Centerville and the City of Springboro to discuss the possibility of a Joint Economic District in/for the southwest corner of the Township. Gary Huff updated the elected officials on the status and future timeline.
VIII. Special Meeting
A Special Trustee Meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, July 25 th, at 4:00 p.m. to discuss Zoning Case Z-681 A QI Exchange Corp.
IX. Other
A joint entities meeting is scheduled for July 30, 2007.
Lee Snyder noted that the Sheriff’s Office was doing a good job of catching speeders on Social Row Road.
ADJOURNMENT 8:42 P.M.All formal actions of the Board of Trustees of Washington Township concerning and relating to the adoption of resolutions and/or motions passed at this meeting were adopted in an open meeting, and of any of its committees resulting in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with the law, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
