As Washington Township continues to grow, so does its network of roads

Several important road projects are expected to take shape over the next few years. In most cases the projects are only in the planning stages, meaning that funding strategies and road designs have not been finalized. However this is where residents are most likely to see road improvements take place in the next few years:

Austin Pike & Social Row Road – This stretch of road from Washington Church to State Route 48 will become even more important to motorists when the Austin Pike interchange opens in 2009. The plan is to widen it to five lanes with curb, gutter and hiker/biker trail before the new interchange is completed. The project will require a joint effort by Washington Township, Montgomery County, the City of Centerville and private developers.

Paragon Road –

Several smaller projects will add up to major improvements over time. The township will remove a double curve on Paragon Road, south of Spring Valley Road, and widen the road in that segment. The project will extend to previously widened sections of road -- the Estates of Paragon Development to the north and Yankee Trace to the South. Work is set tentatively for 2007.

The next stage will finish widening the entire stretch of Paragon south of Spring Valley. Work will take place in two locations: from Spring Valley south to where the road has been widened at the Estates of Paragon Development and from Social Row Road north to the Yankee Trace Development. The project tentatively is slated for 2008.

Meanwhile, work to extend Paragon past Social Row Road to Sheehan Road already has started. The project is underway by a local developer.

Nutt Road – Final construction plans for widening Nutt Road from Meadow Woods Lane to Clyo Road will be complete by the end of summer. This township project is unfunded at this time.
