Washington Township Streets Are On The Road To Repair
A little more than seven miles of township roads – ranging from two to three lanes wide – will be resurfaced this year as part of Washington Township's annual Street Improvement Program.
The program includes one connector street, Marshall Road, and 35 residential streets. A total of 26 are located in the southeast area of the township, with the remainder in the northwest quadrant, according to Public Works Manager Mike Wanamaker.
Streets will be layered with about 116,000 square yards of asphalt – the equivalent of about 10,200 tons. About one mile of curb will be replaced, he said.
Marshall Road will be resurfaced from Rahn Road to the Kettering corporation line. The stretch of Marshall between Rahn and Whipp Road was resurfaced in 2005. Streets besides Marshall include:
