Residents can dispose of expired and unwanted medications at periodic Drug Drop-Off days offered by the Washington Township Substation of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Fire Station 45
8328 McEwen Rd.
Medication may be taken to the apparatus bay of Fire Station 45, next to the Washington Township Government Center. The free program keeps expired and unwanted medications out of the wrong hands and provides a disposal method that is safe for the environment and wildlife.
The program is anonymous, with no questions asked. Identifying information can be removed from medications, but the part of the label with the drug name and dosage information must be left on the container. All types of medications as well as needles contained in an approved sharps container are accepted. Illegal substances are not part of the program.
