Log onto www.townhalltheatre.org for up-to-date information on current audition opportunities and to download audition forms in advance! Reminder: All participants in grades 2-7 interested in being cast in a production must have previously completed or currently be enrolled in our prerequisite course, Acting Level One at the time of the auditions for a particular show.
This season, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley will be presented as an all-cast show. This means that all participants who complete an audition will be cast. Of course, the theatre will still conduct callbacks to determine what part each child receives, but the sting of not being cast at all is removed! The theatre also generally double-casts all of its shows to accommodate the greatest number of children auditioning.
Completion of our core introductory skills class, Acting One is a prerequisite for being cast in any Town Hall Theatre production for all children in grades 2 - 7. This policy insures that everyone in a THT production not only shares the same basic theatre vocabulary and knowledge, but also understands the responsibilities of an actor from rehearsal to performance. Our goal is for every child to have a rewarding experience rehearsing/performing a show, much of which is dependant on knowing what is expected of them as a performer.
The theatre casts professionally-trained adult performance instructors for each of the Landmark Children’s Theatre Company productions. In addition to performing featured roles in each show, performance instructions serve as mentors; leading daily warm-up exercises, running lines and reviewing blocking with young performers. They also teach a series of actor development workshops. These sessions focus on core disciplines such as voice, movement and characterization, as well as teaching show-specific topics such as stage combat, specialty make-up and puppetry. Candidates are encouraged to contact the Artistic Director at 433-8957 ext. 2830 prior to scheduled auditions.
Adults roles are cast age appropriate in Landmark Children’s Theatre Company productions. The theatre casts actors from its open auditions for each show. The theatre also attends the League of Cincinnati Theatres' annual unified auditions for adult actors.
