A Festival of Activities Through Dec. 23!

Every night includes visits with Santa, costumed characters, live animals, amusement rides for kids, the Grinch World experience, bonfires and festival food. Check here for many more things to see and do!

Weekends (Fri.-Sun.)

  • Revolving Performances - Local arts organizations take the stage -- from mandolins and holiday vocals to Celtic rhythms and Dayton Historic Dance. Check our calendar below to see who's performing.

Weeknights (Mon.-Thurs.)

  • Kids Party in the Park -- The Sam's Club Pavilion will host activities for kids, plus storytellers on select nights. Storytelling dates: Nov. 28 & 30 and Dec. 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21
  • Flash Your ID for a Discount -- Flash your Military ID, Golden Buckeye Card, Recreation Pass or Enrichment Center pass at the gate to receive $1 off a single admission. The Flash Your ID Discount is not available for online purchases.

Carriage Rides & Polar Express

Carriage Rides -- Our Percheron horses Duke and Daisy take visitors on a nostalgic tour of the park and off the beaten path. Rides are offered Friday-Sunday nights and nightly December 16-23, except Dec. 3.

 

NEW! Carillon Polar Express - Kids can enjoy a ride through the park on aboard the Carillon Historical Park’s trackless train on these nights: Wed., Nov. 30 | Thurs., Dec. 1 | Sat., Dec. 3 | Wed., Dec. 7 | Thurs., Dec. 8 | Wed., Dec. 14 | Thurs., Dec. 15

Special Nights at the Lights

November 25 – Opening Night
Santa Arrives on the Carillon Polar Express!
Santa Claus arrives at at 6 pm aboard the Carillon Polar Express. After that, he welcomes children to his cozy cabin every night through December 23. The historic log cabin comes complete with holiday decorations, a warm fire and a friendly elf that assists Santa and greets children. Everything about the log home is authentic -- from the large beams overhead to the old limestone fireplace. It's a perfect photo-op for parents, so bring your camera or smart phone!

Free Friday Flix - How the Grinch Stole Christmas
After walking the path, sink in to theater-style seating and watch a film on a professional-size movie screen inside Rec West, just steps from the Woodland Lights path. The movie starts at 7:30 pm.

Bring your family’s best friend with you to walk the path! The staff from PetPeople will be in our Sound Sculpture Garden passing out free treats to pets. Doggie waste bags are available at the gate and throughout the park. Dogs should be people-friendly and kept on a leash to assure a positive experience for all.

December 2 –
Free Friday Flix - Elf
After walking the path, sink in to theater-style seating and watch a film on a professional-size movie screen inside Rec West, just steps from the Woodland Lights path. The movie starts at 7:30 pm.
