Reopening Responsibly

Reopening Responsibly

The Washington Township Rec Center continues its phased reopening of facilities and activities.  We are proud to say that substantial modifications to meet state mandates have kept the virus at bay so far and patrons are safely exercising, swimming and sporting again.  Be assured that we have not relaxed our protocols and remain even more diligent in our efforts to protect patrons while in our facilities.

Participation in activities is restricted to pass holders and Centerville/Washington Township residents.  Fall offerings began the week of August 31 and include sports and leagues for youth and adults, aerobics classes, fitness center, walking track, rock climbing, lap and open swimming, swimming and diving lessons, theater education and production, and Rec’ing Crew: School Edition.  The Enrichment Center will reopen on September 21 with limited hours and programming.  To see our Enrichment Center Reopening Plan click here. Town Hall Theatre remains closed indefinitely, along with birthday parties and public rentals.

Outdoor playgrounds are open to six socially distanced individuals at one time.  Playgrounds are not routinely sanitized so please practice proper hygiene and thoroughly wash your hands before and after use.

Mask wearing, temperature testing, social distancing and room capacities are enforced in all facilities. Family members are not required to practice social distancing as a group of 10 or less but must socially distance from non-family members.

Restroom use is restricted to one patron or family at a time; locker rooms are not available to the public; vending machines are unavailable and drinking fountains have been converted to water bottle filling stations.

In accordance with Ohio Department of Health mandates, masks or facial covering must be worn be everyone in our facilities and in Countryside Park if social distancing of at least 6 ft. cannot be maintained.

Appointments for fitness center time is strongly encouraged, however, you are welcome to walk in without an appointment until we reach our mandated capacity.  Registration remains open until noon on the day prior to use.  For example, if you want to walk on the track at 10 am on Tuesday, you must register by noon on Monday.  Appointments are in 90-minutes blocks.

Do not arrive early for your appointment or you will be asked to wait outside or in your car.  One parent per child under age 7 may accompany their child and remain in the facility for the duration of the activity; parents of older children are asked to leave the building.  Common areas are closed and group congregating is prohibited.  Groups of more than 10 are not permitted.

The fitness center is closed for cleaning during the following times.  If you walk in without an appointment during these times you will be asked to return during the next open time frame: 7:30-8 am, 9:30-10 am, 11:30-12pm, 1:30-2 pm, 3:30-4 pm, 5:30-6 pm, 7:30-8 pm
