A Lifetime of Service

Our community lost an incredible leader this year. Joyce Young was a champion for our residents and her fighting spirit, authentic compassion, and tenacious determination truly made her one of a kind. "In Washington Township and beyond, Joyce was synonymous with community voluntarism and leadership, particularly when it came to advocating for children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities," says Trustee President Sharon Lowry. "As a trustee, Joyce championed the Township form of government as well as collaboration and cooperation with other local entities. Joyce and I were good friends for many years. I will greatly miss her passion, energy, and enthusiasm for generating positive change. Her passing will have a tremendous impact on our community." Joyce's mission was to improve the lives of those around her and leave a legacy of positive change in our community. Without a doubt, she has done that. Our thoughts are with the Young family during this incredibly difficult time and Joyce will be dearly missed by all of us.
