Elected officials will officially welcome Strix Drones to Washington Township at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday April 12, 2022, at noon at their new manufacturing facility located at 11125 Yankee Street, Washington Township 45458.

“It’s an exciting time for our region as we continue to see the aerospace industry expand,” said Washington Township Trustee President Sharon Lowry. “Washington Township is proud to be on the cutting edge of that expansion as Strix brings the first autonomous drone docking station to our Township.”

According to their website, Strix’ docking stations “work with all drones and seamlessly integrate with your fleet.” This eliminates the need to constantly upgrade docking stations when new drones are added or purchased. Additionally, the docking stations are capable of charging any drone no matter what position the drone is in when it lands on the station.

According to Strix, the docking station has a wide variety of uses across the military and civilian sectors. “Washington Township has been a longstanding regional partner in the manufacturing and technology sectors and this addition to our business community helps to strengthen those partnerships,” Lowry said. “In discussions with our regional partners over the past few years, we know that interest and demand in the unmanned aerial vehicle market is on the rise. Strix’ investment in our community reinforces that Washington Township continues to be a strong strategic partner in helping meet that demand.”
