Property Tax Revaluation

It's Time for Property Tax Revaluation
Posted on 07/15/2019

It's time for Montgomery County's property tax revaluation, so you may see an unknown car in your neighborhood or someone taking photos. Because up-to-date property information is crucial to ensure accurate property values, Ohio law requires counties to conduct a revaluation every six years.

For the mandated 2020 revaluation, Montgomery County has contracted with locally-based Lexur Appraisal Services and iLookAbout to photograph the outside of every property in the county and confirm property characteristics.

Lexur is taking photos of Washington Township properties through November.

  • All personnel assigned to the project will be wearing county-issued photo identification.
  • Vehicles used in the project will be clearly marked with Montgomery County Photo & Data Collection decals.
  • Project personnel are deputized to access driveways or private lanes and take measurements of properties.
  • Work may be performed on both weekdays and weekends.

If you have a safety concern about an unknown vehicle in your neighborhood, contact the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

If you see a vehicle in your neighborhood that you don't recognize, you can check our list of appraisers and the cars they will be driving.
