Fitness Room

The center boasts its own Fitness Room with all the equipment needed for a great workout. Pass holders are encouraged to complete an orientation on how to safely and effectively use the equipment and to work out whenever the center is open.

Orientations dates are listed on the calendar and appointments are required.

COST - Free for Complete and Silver Sneakers pass holders. Others are: $30 for residents & $35 for nonresidents.

Fitness Programs


Strength & Balance - Strength & Balance classes are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 11-11:30 am. There is no cost for center pass holders thanks to a generous sponsorship by Medigold. Medigold is a not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plan founded by doctors and hospitals. Contact Linda at 602-1580 or Pam at 671-3631 for information about Medigold.

Hip & Knee Exercise - Hip & Knee exercise on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:15-10:45 am focuses on those areas most in need of attention as we age. The classes are free for center pass holders because of a generous sponsorship by Bethany Village. When you choose Bethany Village, sponsored by Graceworks Lutheran Services, you're choosing a nationally accredited, continuing care community of people faithfully devoted to your quality of life. Stretch & Strength Training - Training on Tuesdays from 11 am-noon is a bargain at only $2.50 per class, or 15 classes for $34 for Enrichment Center pass holders.

Silver Sneakers Classic, 10:45 am -
Move to the music using a variety of exercises that increase muscle strength and range of motion. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a resistance ball are used. A chair is available for seated or standing support.

Zumba® Gold, 1:00 pm - Build cardiovascular health by challenging the heart and working the muscles of the hips, legs and arms with dance moves in this low-impact but energizing class that will have you moving to the beat! Easy to follow choreography focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays are free for SilverSneakers and Complete Pass Holders.



Short Tennis

Pass holders can play a mini version of tennis three days per week using a shorter court, lower net, softer ball and smaller racket. The rules of the game are pretty much the same as regular tennis and it's just as much fun. Head to the Rec West gym on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 am until 12:30 pm to see if short tennis is the game for you.

Table Tennis

If you want a great workout fueled by a little competition, try a rousing game of table tennis. On Mondays and Fridays from 12:30-3:30 pm, the big gym at Rec West is packed with Intermediate-Advanced players and on Wednesdays from 12:30-3:30 pm, you can find the space teeming with Beginner players. Free. Registration not required.


This fun and active paddle sport combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. The Rec Center gym is always busy with Pickleball devotees every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:15-4:15 pm. St. Leonard's has generously sponsored this activity to make it free for participants.
