2018 Beautification Awards

Banbury Road HomeWashington Township Properties Are Recognized

A total of 13 stand-out residential properties have been recognized with 2018 Beautification Awards from Washington Township's Visual Improvement Program Committee (VIP).

Awards were presented at a Monday, October 1, meeting of Washington Township Trustees that also featured a slide show of award-winning properties. Winners were honored at a reception immediately preceding the meeting.

"Beautification efforts benefit the entire community by inspiring others to maintain attractive, well-kept neighborhoods,” said Mike Wanamaker, Public Works Director and staff liaison to the VIP Committee. “Beautification Awards are a way to say thank you to people who work hard to make their yards attractive. Their properties have a direct impact on neighbors and anyone who has the opportunity to see them.”

Award nominations are made by community members and winning properties are selected by the VIP Committee based on the use of flowers and landscaping; maintenance; curb appearance; and how well they stand out in the neighborhood. The VIP Committee is a citizen committee established to help preserve and enhance natural beauty in the township. Members oversee public plantings, streetscape guidelines and other beautification efforts.
