Trash Pickup

If you live in unincorporated Washington Township and your trash hauler has not provided one of the services detailed on this page, call the township at 937-433-0152.

Residents Can Expect These Minimum Trash Collection Services:

All three trash haulers operating in unincorporated Washington Township have signed a Letter of Understanding which indicates their willingness to meet certain performance standards set forth by the township.

As a result, Washington Township lends "preferred provider" status to these haulers who operate within the unincorporated township:

Unincorporated Washington Township

Trash haulers each observe six holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. If a holiday falls on a week day, then trash pickup is delayed one day, with the final pickup day being Saturday. This applies to all homes originally scheduled for pickup either on the holiday itself or later in the week.

For instance, if a holiday falls on a Wednesday, then trash service will be undisturbed on Monday and Tuesday. However pickup will be delayed one day for homes that normally receive trash service on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. If a holiday falls on a weekend then normal trash pickup schedules remain unchanged.

For additional questions about trash pickup, contact your trash hauler.

Lawn Debris

Branches and tree limbs can be tied in bundles no longer than 4 feet in length and 2 feet in diameter, with no limb being greater than 2 inches in diameter. Your waste hauler will provide pick-up for bundles with your trash, if bundled in this manner. Find more information about debris pickup:

Recycling

Recent innovations in paper and plastic recycling have resulted in commitments from end-users to accept and recycle more material. Paper mills have pledged to recycle paper cups and advancements in plastic recycling have increased the demand for additional types of plastic products. Below is a list of items that Rumpke currently accepts for recycling:

City of Centerville

Trash service is provided by the city.

The City of Centerville normally collects trash and recyclables Monday through Thursday. The trash schedule is affected by seven holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

If your weekly scheduled pickup falls on, or follows, any of the above days, your refuse pickup will be delayed one day.
