Sergeant Scott Morgan was recognized on June 4, 2025, by the Montgomery County ADAMHS Board for his work with Crisis Intervention Training (CIT).
As part of his role with the Washington Township Substation of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Sergeant Morgan oversees all aspects of CIT. Following the pandemic, crisis calls for service in our Township have increased by 60%. Over a period of several months, Sergeant Morgan led efforts to create a daily Mental Health Field Interview Report to ensure pertinent information was logged, tracked, and available for deputies on every watch. These reports are now relied on by several law enforcement jurisdictions, the jail treatment coordinator, the ADAMHS board, and the probate court.
Sergeant Morgan helps deputies sign up for crisis intervention training, arranges ride-alongs for behavioral health co-responders, and brainstorms alternatives for deputies working with residents experiencing mental health crises. He also has been instrumental in promoting peer recovery services, securing new and updated community resource information for staff, and organizing roll call and in-person training for writing emergency hospital admissions.
Thank you, Sergeant Morgan! We appreciate your commitment to serving the residents of Washington Township.
