Waste haulers each observe six holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
If a holiday falls on a week day, then trash pickup is delayed one day, with the final pickup day being Saturday. This applies to all homes originally scheduled for pickup either on the holiday itself or later in the week.
For instance, if a holiday falls on a Wednesday, then trash service will be undisturbed on Monday and Tuesday. However, pickup will be delayed one day for homes that normally receive service on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. If a holiday falls on a weekend, then normal waste pickup schedules remain unchanged.
