Washington Township is a wonderful place to live, work, and play! Community events take place throughout the year in the Township and City, at our schools, and in our parks and libraries. Here are a few of the large community events that take place every year in the Township.

Woodland Lights

6-9 pm (gates close at 8:30 pm)

Woodland Lights offers a fantasy land of holiday lights and displays along the half-mile paved path. The month-long festival has more lights, more vignettes, and the same winter whimsy that enchants thousands of visitors each year. Please watch our Woodland Lights website for more information.

America 250

The year 2026 brings two remarkable milestones – America’s 250th anniversary and Washington Township’s 230th birthday. There are events taking place across the country, including right here in Centerville-Washington Township, thanks to a community-wide collaboration between Washington Township, the City of Centerville, Washington-Centerville Public Library, Centerville-Washington Park District, Centerville-Washington History, the Americana Festival, and Centerville City Schools. Cruise-In to the Ice Cream Social

Typically the Second Sunday in August
11 am - 3 pm

This annual family-friendly event features classic cars, games, free RecPlex activities, complimentary food and free ice cream. Annual favorites also include painting a fire truck, shooting water at a pretend fire, and meeting Sparky the fire dog.
