Aquatics at the RecPlex

Appointments are currently required for lap swim, aqua jogging, and open swim. If you are a current pass holder, no fee will be charged when scheduling your appointment. Appointments for pass holders and residents open on Tuesdays at 5 pm while appointments for non-residents open on Wednesdays at 5 pm. Please note that refunds will not be given for missed appointments. Pass holders will be charged a daily walk-in rate for missed appointments. Missed appointments will not be rescheduled.

Spouses and immediate family members who reside in the same household are allowed to share a lap lane with a maximum of two individuals per lane. Our registration system is not set up to recognize this, so patrons will need to make one appointment for one person online and then simply bring the accompanying family member with them and pay at the front desk. Each individual must start on opposite ends of the lap lane in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Masks are required when on the pool deck and must be removed prior to swimming. Masks are not to be worn in the pool at any time.

All individuals will be charged the daily walk-in rate regardless of whether or not they are swimming.

Patrons will be able to register for appointments one week at a time. Registration will remain open until noon on the day prior to use. For example, if you want to lap swim at 7 am on Tuesday, you must register by noon on Monday.

If use of the Personal Aquatics Lift (PAL) is needed for assistance, please provide notification at the time of reservation.

Locker rooms and showers are now available.

Lap Swimming

Lap swim appointments are 50 minutes in length. Cleaning will take place between each session. Two to eight lanes will be available for reservation during dedicated lap swim sessions. Odd numbered lanes must start in the shallow end and even numbered lanes must start in the deep end for effective social distancing. Only one swimmer will be allowed in each lane at any time. Lap lane swimmers must be actively swimming. No water walking or jogging will be permitted in the lap lanes.

Participants must bring their own kick-boards and equipment. Facility equipment is not available at this time.

About our Programs & Facility

We are proud to offer top notch programs in swimming, diving and aquatic fitness within our premier facility at the RecPlex. Progressive swim lessons are offered for every skill level and age -- from 6 months through adult. School age kids also can take diving lessons or join our dive team.

competition pool

A variety of aquatic fitness classes also take place in the pool. Looking for something less structured? Many open swim times are offered for serious lap swimmers or for those who just want to play. Our 8-lane competition lap pool is 25 yards long and has a diving well. It also includes two corkscrew water slides for those who meet the height requirements. Additionally, it has a pool lift for those who need assistance.
small rec pool
Our smaller rec pool is perfect for young children and includes a froggy slide, a rain tree and a turtle water feature. The rec pool is zero entry, meaning there are no steps to navigate. Please note that children 4 and younger must be accompanied in the water by an adult. Most days, the small rec pool is open from 11:00am-12:00pm for preschool age children to use. No membership required, simply pay the drop in rate.

Swim Lessons

Our classes teach people of all ages to swim and remain safe when they are in and around water.

 Lifeguard Training

Classes follow American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program criteria and are taught by certified Red Cross Water Safety instructors. The five-level program covers aquatic skills and knowledge in a logical progression and addresses the personal characteristics of each swimmer, such as age, body size, knowledge, skill, learning style, personality and experiences. Participants learn a variety of strokes, including the front and back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly. They're also introduced to a wide range of personal safety skills and diving techniques. Courses are fun and interactive with hands-on training. More advanced students refine their skills, learn the basics of springboard diving, and discover how to incorporate swimming into a life fitness plan.

FREE Swim Lesson Evaluations

Swim evaluations are offered by appointment before each registration. Please call 937-433-0130 or send an email to set up an evaluation time. Instructors will evaluate children for placement into lessons and provide each child with an evaluation form that's required for registration.

Aquatics

"This has been a great program for our three-year-old. The teachers are very knowledgeable and patient. I can already see the progress after 6 weeks."

Who should be evaluated? - Children who have missed a session should attend because their skill level may have declined since their last class. Fun With Me, Preschool I and Level I enrollees do not require an evaluation.

How does it work? - All evaluations take place in the large pool. Have your child in a bathing suit with a towel and go to the marked bleacher area nearby.

Swim Evaluation does not register your child for swim class - Register for classes online here.

Diving Lesson Evaluations

Diving lessons evaluations are required in most cases. Contact Melissa Moran at 433-0130 to schedule an evaluation or send an email here.
