Washington Township’s Development Services Department is dedicated to maintaining safe, attractive, and well-kept neighborhoods that protect property values and support community pride.  

 

Through the fair and consistent enforcement of the Township Zoning ResolutionProperty Maintenance Code, and Nuisance Abatement Resolution, staff work proactively with residents and property owners within the unincorporated Township to address concerns, resolve violations, and prevent conditions that could negatively impact surrounding properties. These efforts balance education with enforcement, emphasizing cooperation and timely compliance while following established procedures. Residents are encouraged to learn more by reviewing the Zoning Resolution, Property Maintenance Code, and Nuisance Abatement procedures, or by submitting a concern through the Code Violation Complaint Portal.

Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update

The Washington Township Board of Trustees updated its Comprehensive Land Use Plan on March 3, 2025. Community input was a vital part of the process, and ultimately, all the feedback collected from residents, through both the survey and the open house, was used to help guide land use policy, funding, resource decisions, and infrastructure.
