Residents can choose from three haulers that have been providing waste and recycling services in unincorporated Washington Township for many years. Please visit each hauler's website for more information about residential services, including trash and recycling, bulk item and lawn debris pickup, dumpster rentals, electronic and hazardous waste, and holiday schedules.

Township Reviewing Waste Collection Options

We’re pleased to share an update on the preferred pricing option for waste collection. This rate would reduce waste collection costs for many households while still preserving residents’ freedom to choose a different provider if they prefer. This means residents can still choose to contract with Republic Services, Rumpke, or Waste Management.

Beginning in January 2027, Rumpke will offer a preferred price to Township residents. The new rate will include weekly curbside trash and recycling collection, with rolling carts provided for each. In September 2026, all residents in the unincorporated area of Washington Township, regardless of their current provider, will receive a letter from Rumpke with information about pricing and how to sign up for the service.
